EU RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC:

Introduction of RoHS directive:

On January 27, 2003, the European Parliament and European Council issued "Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive" the WEEE Directive and " the Restriction of Hazardous Substances of electronic appliances Directive" referred to as RoHS.

RoHS instruction is effected from July 1, 2006.

In the global large-scale production and sales context, it has caused a huge impact globally and launched a prelude to the green revolution in electrical and electronic products industry.

Requirement of RoHS directive:

According to the RoHS directive, the new EEE will be banned to launch into the EU market if the following conditions happened:

the total content of lead Pb,

mercury Hg and

hexavalent chromium Cr6 + and

polybrominated biphenyls PBB and

polybrominated diphenyl ethers PBDE flame retardants and


is more than 1000ppm Cd respectively and the content of concentrations exceeds 100 ppm.

- Consumer Electronics and Electrical Equipment

- Lighting

- Electronic and electrical tools

- toy / leisure / sports facilities

- vending machine

Exemption Scope:

- Medical Equipment 8th class

- monitoring and control equipment 9th class
